The different choices of paper

While most leaflets are printed in A4 format, the A5 format is also very practical as it is more compact and can therefore be more easily picked up, slipped into a bag or parcel, or placed in a display stand on a counter for example. If you wish to vary the media, you can add to your order leaflets in ⅓ A3 or DL format in particular.

Whichever format you select, you can choose from 5 different types of paper:

• The 80g, classic and thin, has an excellent price/performance ratio
• The 135g, thicker than a post-it note, is slightly more resistant than the 80g
• The 170g semi-rigid is ideal for trade shows and events
• The 250g, more rigid and therefore with a better hold
• The 400g, thick and rigid, ideal for conveying a high-end image

Good to know: if you choose a 170g, 350g or 400g paper, you can benefit from creasing , which is a finishing technique that consists of preparing the fold so that your A5 leaflet can be folded perfectly cleanly.

Choose the number and style of pleats you want

The aim of the A5 leaflet, unlike a simple flyer or poster, is to make the reader discover the information as the folds are opened, however this can be done in a number of ways thanks to the folding styles you can choose:

• The simplefold
• The accordionfold
• Rolledpleats
• Windowfolds
• Crossfolds

Depending on the type of folding you want to do and the amount of information you want to put on your A5 flyer, you can opt for a 1, 2 or 3 fold format.

Our advice: always take care of the cover so that the people to whom you distribute your A5 flyer will want to unfold it and read the information inside. You can of course work on the design and colours, but you can also apply a matt, glossy or soft-touch finish to make your leaflet more pleasant to the touch.
