Typography
Minimum size: 5 points Remember to vectorise the fonts for Illustrator or InDesign files Illustrator or InDesign files (Menu Text > Vectorise).
When cutting, it is very difficult to centre a frame with the edges of the card. The result is often disappointing. In order to limit the visual impact of an offset at the time of cutting we recommend a safety margin of at least 4mm between the outside of the thread and the edge of the card.
Here is an illustration of the front and back depending on the positioning and reading direction.
INDESIGN SETTING
When creating your document, make sure you are in Print mode. Put 5 mm in Bleed (More Options Menu > Bleed).
When your document is finished, export it (File menu > Export) in Adobe PDF format (printing) by checking the box for Cuts (Cues and bleeds > Cuts)
PHOTOSHOP ADJUSTMENT
When creating your file, add 1cm (to get 5mm on each edge) to the final size of your document.
Then create markers (View menu > New marker) and enter the horizontal and vertical measurements in millimetres (mm).
The markers will allow you to see a preview of your document as it will look when finished. Be careful to respect a safety margin by not putting any important elements within 5 mm of the markers. To finish, save your document (File>Save as) in Adobe PDF format without changing any of the settings.
ILLUSTRATOR SETTING
Create your document in the format and add 5 mm of bleed (More Options menu > Bleed)
When your document is finished, export it (menu File > Export) in Adobe PDF format (printing) by checking the box for Cuts ( Cues and Bleeds > Cuts)
Types of laminations
Laminating is a way of ennobling paper by applying a thin layer of synthetic film. This film is applied to the paper under heat and increases its thickness and rigidity, while giving it a very attractive appearance. This technique also improves durability and protects the paper over time.
Glossy lamination
A glossy lamination gives depth and impact. It is an option that makes the colours more vivid and eye-catching.
Matte lamination
Matte lamination gives an elegant and more prestigious look than gloss lamination
Peach skin lamination (soft touch)
Similar to matte lamination, it also gives a very soft touch that adds a tactile dimension to the business card.
Selective varnish
This glossy varnish is applied selectively to highlight the important elements of your visual.
3D selective varnish
This technique allows you to highlight elements of your design by selectively applying a thick layer of varnish. By playing with the thickness you can create textures.

Available formats for square business card printing

- Square mini (5.5 x 5.5 cm): ideal for a simple, uncluttered business card that doesn't take up space in a wallet
- Standard square (6 x 6 cm): this intermediate size card allows you to add a little more content than the first one while keeping a mini size
- Large square (6.5 cm x 6.5 cm): still smaller than the standard business card (8.5 x 5.4 cm), it allows you to stand out from the competition while still being able to show a lot of information
Square business card printing can be done on a single-sided or double-sided card, but also on a double-sided card. The double-sided card allows for four printable sides, ideal for those who wish to add an appointment setting area to their square business card, add a logo or a map for example.
You can also choose between a plain square business card printed in black and white or a more designer one in colour.

Frequently asked questions about square business cards
What should be the resolution of the file sent for printing?
When you send a design to our printing company for the printing of square business cards, the resolution of the image must be at least 300 DPI. If this value does not speak for itself, you should know that it corresponds to the quality of the image. The higher the resolution, the better the result when printing, even if the image has to be enlarged considerably.
The acronym DPI stands for "Digit Per Inch" which can be translated as "pixel per inch". Your image must therefore contain 300 pixels per inch to be printed in optimal conditions.
The software generally offers standard images at 72 DPI, however this adjustment can be made very easily via the settings of your design software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc). If you have any difficulties in making this adjustment, do not hesitate to contact our teams by telephone.
What tips should I follow for an effective business card?
Your business card is not meant to convince your customers or prospects that you offer interesting goods or services, it is meant to enable them to contact you quickly.
The communication surface is limited, so you must carefully select the information to be shown on it when ordering square business card printing.
If we could give you just one piece of advice, it would be to keep it simple and efficient: write down your contact details and those of the company clearly, using a simple and readable font such as Arial, Verdana or Times New Roman in a minimum of 7.5 to ensure that everything is legible.
Similarly, the choice of colours and backgrounds is important to ensure that the information is clearly visible.
How to choose between different designs?
The process of creating a visual can be very time consuming as we often hesitate between different choices of colours, fonts, sizes, etc.
